AHA Dishwash

Liquid dish wash is a common homecare product.
Used for cleaning plates, cups, cutleries etc., these items eventually come into contact with food hence extra care helps especially in households with animals.

While many ingredients are deemed safe for human use, extra care is reasonable as animals have more sensitive and delicate systems.

This is the basis of our dishwash formulation;
Safe for human and animals!

What are the concerns?

Propylene glycol is a synthetic liquid substance used by the chemical, food, and pharmaceutical industries. The FDA classifies propylene glycol as “generally recognized as safe” for use in food.

Propylene Glycol is poisonous to dogs if consumed in large quantities. Cats are particular sensitive to propylene glycol and can cause abnormalities in their red blood cells.
FDA prohibits its use in cat food formulation.
Diethanolamine (DEA) function as emulsifiers to produce foam and bubbles in cosmetics and also adjusts the product’s pH value.

DEA on its own does not create problems for humans. However, DEA can interact with other ingredients to create “nitrosodiethanolamine (NDEA)” which is carcinogenic (potential to cause cancer).

DEA is toxic to aquatic animals and can cause cancer in animals.
Triclosan is an antibacterial and antifungal agent used in many consumer products. Lab studies have shown that triclosan alters hormone regulation in animals.

Bacteria exposure to tricolan may develop resistance leading to superbugs.
Parabens are used as preservatives in many products.
Parabens mimic estrogen and can promote some types of breast cancer cells. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) currently allows for its use in cosmetics.
